School Philosophy And Motto

The philosophy of Teikyo Heisei University is “to acquire a wide range of knowledge and practical skills in specialized fields and to develop human resources who are imaginative, strong-minded and full of humanity, based on the spirit of practical learning”. This spirit is also applied to Teikyo Heisei University Japanese Language School. Our school aims to develop human resources who can not only acquire the Japanese language as “knowledge” but also utilize it as a “means” to contribute to society.

We are a Japanese language school affiliated with a university and aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of Japan that includes Japanese culture and social mechanisms. Those who wish to go on to universities will be given the right to receive preferential treatment for studying at Teikyo Heisei University based on their grades, so they can learn Japanese with peace of mind. Our school has the following school motto.

    ・You have 50,000 yen reduction of admission fee and 50% reduction of facility and tuition fee for the first year. From the second year onwards, reduction rate will be decided depending on your GPA and financial circumstances.

    ② You must have Japanese language skills equivalent to JLPT N2.
    ③ Your attendance rate at our language school must be not less than 90%.
    ④ Your grades and learning attitude at our language school must be excellent.

    3. You have access to university facilities.
    You have access to Teikyo Heisei University facilities such as library, futsal field and basketball court which locate 6 minutes on foot from our Japanese language school.

    4. There are opportunities to interact with Japanese students currently studying at the university.
    You have opportunities to join various university club activities such as singing, dancing, hiking and cooking. You can also take part in campus festivals, interacting with Japanese students and a lot of visitors.

    5. You have opportunities to audit university lectures.
    You can audit some of university lectures to study Japanese actually used in university classes.

  • Approved by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

    In addition to general approval by Ministry of Justice, which all Japanese language schools must have, we obtained legal status of “Miscellaneous School” from Tokyo Metropolitan Government, which makes us to meet various requirements to provide students with quality learning environment. This legal status also allows our students to have discount fare for daily commuter pass and long travel train tickets by JR lines.

“Teikyo Heisei University Japanese Language School” was opened in October 2019 to provide the best Japanese language learning environment for those whose native language is not Japanese. Being located right next to the university gives you a lot of advantages such as free access to the university libraries, cafeterias and other university facilities. It also gives you a better idea of the lesson contents at the university at the early stage of your campus life.
